Tang Junyuan Student Innovation Center

The Shanghai Jiao Tong University Tang Junyuan Student Innovation Center (Tang Chuang) is located on the first floor of the Longbin Building (Longbin Building). Inaugurated in April 2023 and partly funded by the Shanghai Tang Junyuan Education Foundation, the center is dedicated to fostering students' innovation and entrepreneurship (dual-creation) mindset and capabilities. It integrates dual-creation education resources from both inside and outside the classroom, connects educational channels within and beyond the institute, and brings together efforts from across campus and the broader community. Together, these form a GC-characteristic, all-weather, progressive innovation and entrepreneurship education system aimed at cultivating internationally-minded, leadership-oriented, and innovative talent.

The center offers a series of courses in innovation/entrepreneurship education and entrepreneurship minors, supports capstone design and design-manufacturing courses, hosts lectures and workshops on innovation and entrepreneurship, advises student clubs such as the Industrial Big Data Club, and collaborates with the institute's Youth League Committee to guide student science and technology associations. It also organizes and supports various science and innovation competitions both within and outside the institute.

Covering over 1,000 square meters, the center features functional areas including 3D printing, machining, 5-axis machining, laser cutting, electronic circuit design, electronic component assembly, and a VR/AR virtual lab, providing students with both hardware and software resources for innovation and entrepreneurship.

Yu Liming Student Center

The Yu Liming Student Center is located on the east wing of the third floor of the Longbin Building (Longbin Building), covering approximately 860 square meters. It serves not only as a study space but also as a "comfortable corner" for daily interaction and personal growth. The center houses an academic guidance center, self-study areas, group discussion rooms, a computer lab, a lounge, a book corner, and a project display area.

Whether you need a quiet environment for focused study or a space for brainstorming with classmates, this center has you covered. It also offers one-on-one academic advising to help students find study methods that work best for them. The hope is that students can both study efficiently and enjoy comfortable interactions here.

Student Innovation Center

The Student Innovation Center (Xue Chuang) is located on the south side of the Fourth Dining Hall. Since its establishment, the center has integrated open-service resources, assembled key personnel into a "Student Technical Service Promotion Group," formed a "Technical Service Department," and assigned two experienced, highly skilled teachers to manage its daily operations, handling technical consultations and processing service requests from students. For the high-demand machining service, students only need to participate in the first and last steps of the process — all intermediate steps are handled by the "Technical Service Team."

Equipment Library

The Equipment Library is located inside Building B of the Student Innovation Center (enter and walk all the way to the back). It is designed to let SJTU students borrow equipment — including various accessories — much like borrowing books from a library. Applications can be submitted at dev.si.sjtu.edu.cn. Approval typically takes 1-2 days, and equipment must be returned or renewed within one month (some accessories may be marked as non-returnable).
